Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Services, this position will ensure the reporting needs of University Advancement are being met in an accurate and efficient manner. This position will also be responsible for the completion of larger, division wide, reporting needs including, but not limited to, the annual VSE report, the annual University Advancement Planning Document, monthly data reporting, and any ad hoc reporting request from Advancement colleagues or campus partners. This role will be critical in the creation of analytics to help drive strategy for the Advancement Division.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years’ experience in reporting and/or analytics work, preferably in a fundraising role
• 2+ years’ experience in Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising, financial or sales CRM
• Experience in reporting and analytics in a fundraising, sales, or financial office
• Advanced Excel knowledge.

Preferred Education and Experience

• MBA preferred but not required.
• Experience and knowledge of Business Analytics and Intelligence tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Access, Crystal Report tool, and native Raiser’s Edge reporting tools desired
• Ability to translate highly technical concepts and ideas to all levels of users across campus.
• Experience in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM managing data and records in a fundraising, sales, or financial setting.

Job Duties

  • Strategic Leadership: 
    • Work with fundraising staff, volunteers, campus partners, and leadership to prepare, review and disseminate reports that track fundraising progress, KPIs, and progress toward annual goals 
    • In collaboration with the Director of Advancement Services, contribute to the evaluation of vendors and analysis tools for continued growth and innovation in reporting/analytics 
    • Assist with and help lead technology efforts, reporting, and data tracking for Elon Day 
  • Operations: 
    • Generate, prepare, and disseminate reports in various formats, including regular and campaign activity, summary and giving reports, and ad hoc report requests as needed 
    • Prepare mailing, email, calling, and texting lists and queries for solicitations with appropriate data as needed 
    • Prepare standardized reports from Raiser’s Edge NXT database and other platforms, including Crystal Reports 
    • Troubleshoot errors with reports, queries, exports and resolve any issues that arise 
    • Manage the current Power BI Advancement Reports and Dashboards for annual and campaign reporting 
    • Maintain documentation for frequent reports and data pulls to ensure future reporting needs include correct criteria for accurate reporting 
  • Communications and Engagement: 
    • Collaborate with campus partners and internal Advancement colleagues to investigate reporting and analytics needs to drive fundraising goals and initiatives 
    • Serve as a Raiser’s Edge subject matter expert for the Advancement Division and the University, provide reporting and system training when needed 
  • Other: 
    • Support Elon University events and projects (Move In, Commencement Week, etc.) and University Advancement events and projects (Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, regional events, Family Weekend, mailing/shipping fulfillment, etc.) 
    • Other duties as assigned
