Position Summary

This position serves as a primary customer service representative for the Office of Financial Aid. Primary duties will be the monitoring of the department email and fax accounts, answering telephones, working with students and parents in the front office and scanning, indexing, and maintaining the document imaging system.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree in any relevant field of study with minimum 1 year of experience with the following relevant work experience: Administrative support experience involving data entry, document collection, record maintenance, and use of computerized information systems such as MS Office.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate degree, vocational certificate, or technical school credential in a related field of study.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong communication skills (both oral and written) to include appropriate tone, clarity, and timeliness. Willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing working environment. Job Duties

  • Customer Service
    • Monitoring and answering of FinAid email, FinFax transmissions, and FinAid Check Teams Group.
    • Answering incoming telephone calls from students and parents.
    • Assisting students and parents in the office.
    • Answers questions regarding FAFSA filing, loan applications, adjustments to aid, requests for adjustment, verification, requested documents, etc.
  • General Office Duties
    • Scanning and indexing of important student documents into document imaging system and general maintenance and organization of system.
    • Assisting with processes within the office as needed
  • Office Support
    • Assisting with training and development of student employees.
    • Support all Admissions events as needed for our department.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Program Assistant- Departments of Computer Science, Engineering & Physics

The Program Assistant for the Departments of Computer Science, Engineering and Physics provides support to faculty, staff, and students within the three departments and coordinates day-to-day operations. This vital member of the Elon University School of Engineering & Computing interacts daily with students, faculty, and staff by providing clerical and office management support, by supervising student employees, and by providing written/oral communications to both internal and external audiences. The position also works closely with the Office of the Dean and other units across the University.
