Position Summary

Elon University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) teaching position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor of Neuroscience, beginning mid-August 2027. We welcome applications from broadly trained individuals with a terminal degree in Neuroscience, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related fields. The candidate will be housed in the department of Exercise Science. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree or higher prior to the start date.


A strong candidate will be able to teach our core neuroscience courses, neuroscience-specific Research Methods coursework currently under development, and courses within the Exercise Science curriculum. The candidate will also have opportunities to develop new courses to support the Neuroscience and Exercise Science programs as well as courses in University-wide programs, such as the Elon Core Curriculum.

We are especially interested in candidates with experience teaching a variety of neuroscience laboratory methods and candidates that can contribute to community outreach through exercise neuroscience programming and activities.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience teaching a variety of neuroscience methods; experience leading community outreach opportunities within the discipline; experience as instructor of record in disciplinary courses

Assistant Professor of Human Service Studies

Elon University invites applications for an Assistant Professor Tenure Track position in Human Service Studies beginning mid-August, 2027. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in a Human Services related discipline, and demonstrate effectiveness in teaching as well as demonstrating an active research agenda. Construction Project Manager

Planning, Design & Construction Mgmt.
The role leads projects through construction and closeout, with particular emphasis on contractor performance, schedule management, cost control, quality, and timely resolution of construction issues. The Construction Project Manager proactively identifies risks and potential delays, coordinates timely solutions to maintain project milestones and support successful completion, and monitors contractor and design team performance against contractual commitments. The position also provides construction expertise during planning and design to improve constructability, phasing, procurement, and schedule performance.

The Head Coach for the Club Swim is a member of the Campus Recreation staff in the Division of Student Life and serves as the primary coach and leader for the program. Club sports teams at Elon are student organizations, run by student leaders who manage many aspects of organization operations. Club sports programs promote student development, engaging co-curricular experiences, high-level athletic competition, and positive representation of the university. As part of a broader initiative to advance club sports at the university, the Club Swim Head Coach will serve as the team coach, coordinate administrative aspects of program operations, work closely with Admissions to recruit student athletes (in coordination with Admissions), and achieve important fundraising goals (in coordination with University Advancement). This position requires evening and weekend work.
