Position Summary

The Coordinator of Advancement Services – Gift Records is responsible for maintaining and recording complete and accurate records for gifts and gift commitments made to Elon University. Additionally, this position will share responsibility for the correct deposit of gifts to the Bursars Office and the transmission of information to the Accounting Office. This position will provide support to the Assistant Director of Advancement Services – Gift Records with the distribution of gift information to University Advancement, other departments and donors, as needed.

 

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree. Minimum of one year of experience.

Job Duties

  • Accurately categorizing and processing various types of gifts, pledges and other donor-related transactions into the Raiser’s Edge database to the correct donor record, including analyzing gifts to determine appropriate funds and other aspects of each gift. Make gift adjustments as necessary. Gift types include but not limited to gifts received online, cash, checks, credit cards, Venmo, Square. • Scan and electronically file daily gift documentation. Prepare daily bank deposits. • Process and maintain records on all gifts in accordance with Advancement policies, CASE standards, and IRS regulations. • Confirm appropriate matching gift information directly with matching gift companies and verify and enter matching gift pledges on donor records within the Raiser’s Edge database. • Assist with the generating of reports and pledge reminders. • Process and maintain records on all event revenues in accordance with Advancement policies.
