Position Summary

The Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for specifically designated aspects of the women's lacrosse program, exercises independent judgment in providing technical expertise in the fundamentals of the sport, teaching student-athletes basic and advanced skills, and assisting the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach in management of the team through recruiting, program development, fund-raising, promotional activities, and related assigned responsibilities. The Assistant Coach guides and mentors student-athletes throughout the academic year.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in any relevant field of study. One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Master's degree in any relevant field of study. At least two years of experience in coaching at the intercollegiate level is strongly preferred, however, extensive player experience at the collegiate level can be substituted for the coaching experience. Coaching experience in a NCAA Division I level program is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions is also preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Management and organizational skills are required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

 

Job Duties

  • Assumes responsibility for a particular aspect of the women's lacrosse program as assigned by the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, planning short and long terms objectives under the leadership of the head coach, demonstrating technical expertise in the basics of the sport, and teaching the fundamentals and advanced level skills and game strategies to student-athletes, recruiting players including determining which schools to visit and which athletes to recruit, recommending the selection of team members, supervising practice sessions, scouting future opponents, providing expert advice to the head coach and team members, providing guidance or mentoring to student athletes throughout the academic year, coordinating with the Academic Assistance staff members, and monitoring academic progress of participating student-athletes.
  • Protects the integrity of the women's lacrosse program and the reputation of the intercollegiate athletics program of the University by ensuring that recruiting activities, student-athlete eligibility determination, scholarships and financial aid programs, scheduled practice sessions, and related activities governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as well as applicable conference rules and University policies.
  • Reduces the likelihood of sports-related injuries or the aggravation of such injuries during practice sessions and scheduled contests by being knowledgeable of the injuries sustained in the sport and proper prevention methods, supervising appropriate pre-training session and pre-contest preparations and warm ups, and referring injured student-athletes to qualified sports medicine personnel or athletic trainers.
  • Promotes a positive image of the intercollegiate athletics program and the University through participation in community and professional organizations, representing the University at professional meetings as required, promoting participation in community service activities by student athletes, and supporting established athletic fund-raising goals by actively participating in fund-raising events and promotional activities for intercollegiate athletics, assists in the formulation of team and department fundraising activities, as directed by the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach.

Assistant Director of Admissions for Campus Visits

Admissions
The Assistant Director of Admissions for Campus visit falls under the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. This position reports to the Director of Admissions for Campus Visit in the department of Campus Visit within Undergraduate Admissions. This role is responsible for the oversight and daily management of the 100+ tour guide and student intern program. Position includes support of the daily campus visit program through atrium support, management of all group visits, and providing regular information sessions. This position supports general admissions counselor responsibilities – limited recruitment travel if needed and application review. Position requires weekend work.

Senior Assistant Director, Transfer Admissions

The Senior Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of transfer student recruitment and admissions for Queens University of Charlotte. Reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, this position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive transfer enrollment strategy designed to increase transfer inquiries, applications, admitted students, and enrollment. Serving as the primary admissions leader for the transfer student population, the Senior Assistant Director manages the full transfer recruitment lifecycle—from prospect identification and application generation through application evaluation, admission, enrollment, and transition to Queens. The position develops recruitment strategies and transfer pathways that make Queens an accessible and compelling destination for students seeking to complete their undergraduate education. A significant focus of the role is establishing and strengthening relationships with community colleges, four-year institutions, advisors, faculty, community-based organizations, and other partners that can create sustainable transfer pipelines to Queens. The Senior Assistant Director will work collaboratively across the University to simplify the transfer experience, improve transfer credit transparency, strengthen articulation and pathway agreements, and ensure prospective transfer students receive personalized and timely support throughout the enrollment process.

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant for University Advancement supports the daily operations of the Associate Vice President (AVP) and Annual Giving/Advancement Communications departments. This is a dynamic role that assists with a variety of communications (including presidential letters), supervises student staff and provides overall support to the AVP as well as several departments reporting to the AVP. The Administrative Assistant must be highly organized and efficient with the ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities; demonstrate good judgment and attention to detail; show strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position also works closely with other departments within University Advancement and across campus. Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives

Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision of Elon’s alumni relationship cultivation and stewardship, volunteerism and professional development efforts. The Assistant Director is responsible for building relationships with Elon alumni to engage them in activities that will enhance the future of our university. This position will design a strategic approach to identify, cultivate, and steward our alumni as partners, advocates, and investors. This position will communicate with the alumni body regularly via the monthly alumni newsletter and Elon alumni social media accounts. In addition, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives will provide leadership of advancement’s alumni professional engagement efforts including, but not limited to, in-person and virtual professional development, networking opportunities and lifelong learning programs/events. The Assistant Director, in coordination with other colleagues and units across campus, will help develop, build and promote a variety of programming for alumni both on and off campus plus virtually. In addition, the Assistant Director will be responsible for managing a menu of alumni volunteer opportunities and promoting them to the alumni body. In conjunction with other members of the Alumni Engagement team, the Assistant Director will identify and recruit alumni volunteers and inspire excitement for opportunities.
