Position Summary

The Senior Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of transfer student recruitment and admissions for Queens University of Charlotte. Reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, this position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive transfer enrollment strategy designed to increase transfer inquiries, applications, admitted students, and enrollment.

Serving as the primary admissions leader for the transfer student population, the Senior Assistant Director manages the full transfer recruitment lifecycle—from prospect identification and application generation through application evaluation, admission, enrollment, and transition to Queens. The position develops recruitment strategies and transfer pathways that make Queens an accessible and compelling destination for students seeking to complete their undergraduate education.

A significant focus of the role is establishing and strengthening relationships with community colleges, four-year institutions, advisors, faculty, community-based organizations, and other partners that can create sustainable transfer pipelines to Queens. The Senior Assistant Director will work collaboratively across the University to simplify the transfer experience, improve transfer credit transparency, strengthen articulation and pathway agreements, and ensure prospective transfer students receive personalized and timely support throughout the enrollment process.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and progressively responsible experience in undergraduate admissions, enrollment management, student recruitment, advising, higher education, or a related field.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, build relationships, communicate effectively with students and families, analyze enrollment data, and work collaboratively across institutional departments.

Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills are required, along with the ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends in support of recruitment activities.

Preferred Education and Experience

Master's degree and three or more years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions or enrollment management preferred.

Experience with transfer recruitment, community college partnerships, articulation agreements, transfer credit processes, application evaluation, and transfer student enrollment is strongly preferred.

Experience using Slate or another higher education CRM and demonstrated success using data, communication strategies, and relationship management to generate applications and increase enrollment are also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate a comprehensive transfer recruitment and enrollment plan for Queens University of Charlotte, with responsibility for meeting annual transfer inquiry, application, admission, deposit, and enrollment goals.
  • Lead transfer student application generation strategies, including targeted outreach, digital and CRM campaigns, community college recruitment, transfer fairs, on-campus and virtual programming, re-engagement campaigns, and direct student communication.
  • Manage assigned transfer applicants throughout the admissions funnel, providing high-touch counseling regarding admission requirements, academic programs, transfer credits, financial aid and scholarships, enrollment deadlines, and next steps.
  • Review and evaluate transfer applications and academic credentials and render or recommend admission decisions consistent with University policies and enrollment objectives.
  • Serve as the primary admissions liaison for transfer recruitment partnerships with community colleges and other institutions, with particular attention to developing sustainable pipelines throughout Charlotte, the greater Carolinas, and other strategic markets.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain articulation agreements, transfer pathways, institutional partnerships, and other initiatives that provide students with clear pathways to completing a Queens degree.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, Advising, Student Life, and other campus partners to create a seamless transfer experience from initial inquiry through enrollment.
  • Work with academic and administrative partners to improve the transparency, speed, and communication of transfer credit evaluations so prospective students understand how previously earned credits apply toward a Queens degree.
  • Develop relationships with community college transfer advisors, counselors, faculty, administrators, and student organizations and maintain a consistent Queens presence at key transfer partner institutions.
  • Plan and execute transfer-specific recruitment and yield programming, including Transfer Information Sessions, Instant Decision Days, Transfer Open Houses, community college visits, advising appointments, virtual events, and admitted student programming.
    Develop targeted recruitment strategies for students who may be strong transfer candidates, including community college students, students at four-year institutions, adult learners, stopped-out students, and students seeking a different academic or campus experience.
  • Utilize Slate CRM and institutional data to manage the transfer funnel, develop communication campaigns, track student engagement, identify enrollment opportunities, and measure recruitment effectiveness.
  • Monitor transfer enrollment data and regularly report on inquiries, applications, admits, deposits, enrollment, conversion rates, geographic trends, partner performance, academic interests, and other key performance indicators.
  • Conduct regular analysis of transfer markets and competitor institutions to identify emerging opportunities, enrollment barriers, and potential new institutional partnerships.
  • Partner with Enrollment Marketing to develop transfer-specific communications, web content, print materials, digital campaigns, and student stories that clearly articulate the value of transferring to Queens.
  • Ensure transfer recruitment messaging highlights Queens' distinctive academic experience, personalized education, location in Charlotte, career preparation, internship opportunities, faculty engagement, student life, and pathways to degree completion.
  • Represent Queens at community colleges, college fairs, transfer fairs, conferences, community organizations, and other recruitment events. Regional travel and occasional evening and weekend work are required.
  • Serve as an advocate for transfer students across the University, identifying barriers within the recruitment and enrollment process and recommending solutions that improve access, service, conversion, and student experience.
  • Participate as a collaborative member of the Undergraduate Admissions leadership team and support broader University enrollment initiatives as assigned by the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions.

 

Job Duties

  • Recruitment Management:
    • Consult with Operations/Communications to create and maintain a communication plan for transfer, readmit, spring admit, non-degree and ABSN seeking students from the point of application through enrollment  
    • Regularly review and recommend edits for admissions decision letters and correspondence related to transfer and special applications  
    • Collaborate with University Communications in the creation and editing of the transfer brochure 
    • Create and maintain regular email and calling campaigns for ABSN, transfer and spring admission populations 
    • Collaborate with offices that support transfer and special population enrollment including, but not limited to the offices of Residence Life, Financial Aid, Academic Advising and Support, Registrar, and New Student Orientation 
    • Advocate for transfer and special populations in the admissions, housing, and scholarship processes 
    • Serve as the office liaison to the Nursing department
  • Application Management:  
    • Articulate and execute admissions standards for all special populations  
    • Evaluate applications and make consistent and appropriate decisions utilizing the university's admissions policy  
    • Review and recommend edits for all population applications 
    • Manage the awarding of the Transfer Engagement Scholarship 
    • Support First-Year application review
  • Strategic Planning / External Partner Support:
    • Analyze and interpret application reports to drive strategy in recruitment process  
    • Develop yield strategy for ABSN, transfer and spring admission populations  
    • Foster relationships with the NC community colleges and participate in applicable college fairs and recruitment activities   Identify candidates and serve on selection committee for the Alamance Community College Transfer scholarship
  • Campus Visit Support 
    • Support campus visits by conducting information sessions, meeting with prospective students, and participating in the rotation for Saturday campus visit coverage  
    • Support campus visits during all on-campus admissions events  
    • Conduct regular transfer student and ABSN specific on-campus / virtual information

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant for University Advancement supports the daily operations of the Associate Vice President (AVP) and Annual Giving/Advancement Communications departments. This is a dynamic role that assists with a variety of communications (including presidential letters), supervises student staff and provides overall support to the AVP as well as several departments reporting to the AVP. The Administrative Assistant must be highly organized and efficient with the ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities; demonstrate good judgment and attention to detail; show strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position also works closely with other departments within University Advancement and across campus. Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives

Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision of Elon’s alumni relationship cultivation and stewardship, volunteerism and professional development efforts. The Assistant Director is responsible for building relationships with Elon alumni to engage them in activities that will enhance the future of our university. This position will design a strategic approach to identify, cultivate, and steward our alumni as partners, advocates, and investors. This position will communicate with the alumni body regularly via the monthly alumni newsletter and Elon alumni social media accounts. In addition, the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives will provide leadership of advancement’s alumni professional engagement efforts including, but not limited to, in-person and virtual professional development, networking opportunities and lifelong learning programs/events. The Assistant Director, in coordination with other colleagues and units across campus, will help develop, build and promote a variety of programming for alumni both on and off campus plus virtually. Assistant Professor of Religious Studies

Use knowledge of and work experience with teaching Theology/Religious Studies-related undergraduate and graduate courses to teach grad and undergraduate courses in religion and religious ethics, and Elon’s Core Curriculum. Work with Religious Studies faculty to continuously improve the curriculum of the Religious Studies major. Conduct academic research in Religious Studies. Facilities Management
The custodian position is responsible for helping maintain a clean and safe environment of all inside spaces which include Residential housing, Academic buildings, Athletic facilities, Student centers and dining locations for Elon University Campus. This includes, but not limited to, maintain and cleaning equipment, the cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, vacuuming floors, and removing all trash from the premises, cleaning of biohazards and high touch areas. Custodians are also responsible for monitoring special events and athletic games across campus making sure areas are clean and sanitized during events.
