Position Summary

This position is responsible for recruitment goals and objectives in an assigned international recruitment territory. Recruitment will include extensive international travel to assigned areas where Elon has been successful in attracting qualified students as well as developing new areas for growth. In addition to these specific duties within international admissions, this position is responsible for general admissions counselor responsibilities, including application review and decision-making, daily campus visits, and weekend events.

Job Duties

  • Territory Management - Recruits from and increases yield in assigned international territory - Prepares independent travel schedule to include high school visits, college fairs, Evening with Elon receptions during a 12-16 week period, including fall and spring - Assists with appropriate communication targeted to assigned territory - Manages a personal expense report online via Elon's procurement card site - Supports Campus Visit with regular Saturday information sessions - Unless traveling for the university, supports and attends all Admissions events
  • External Partnerships - Collaborates with Global Education Center within campus visit initiatives for prospective students, International Orientation, and mutual support of the international student community - Assists in the planning and implementation of the International Counselor Visitation program - Develops and fosters strong relationships with high school guidance counselors, independent counselors, career centers, and outreach organizations within international territory - Assists with the implementation of third-party vendor products or initiatives 
  • Application Support - Pulls completed files from assigned territory and completes initial review of applications - Participates in admissions committee meetings to finalize admitted students from Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision pools - Serves as counselor of the day on a rotating basis, responsible for taking and following up on incoming calls from prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors
  • Territory Evaluation - Develops and implements recruitment strategies designed to meet target recruitment goals - Analyzes the recruitment plan for the assigned territory to create a travel schedule that supports Elon's commitment to expand our international footprint
