Position Summary

This position works under the direction of the Plumbing Supervisor and the Lead Plumbing Mechanic I performs the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained plumbing fixtures, fountains, and commercial kitchen equipment.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED with minimum 1 year of experience

Preferred Education and Experience

Vocational or technical training

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of plumbing principles.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated Problem Solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs on Dailey bases

 

Job Duties

  • The Plumbing Mechanic II performs the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained plumbing fixtures, fountains, and commercial kitchen equipment. Tasks include, but not limited to; monitoring, servicing, and accurate reporting.
  • The Plumbing Mechanic II completes assigned work orders and accurately reporting results.
  • The Plumbing Mechanic II supports the Plumbing Supervisor, Lead Plumbing Mechanic I, and Plumbing Mechanic I with the non-routine maintenance of all university-maintained plumbing infrastructures.
