Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement, the Director of Alumni Engagement, Queens is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing Queens alumni engagement opportunities. The director serves a critical role as ambassador for the University, building strong and sustained relationships with all undergraduate and graduate alumni and engaging them in meaningful ways through communications, experiences, volunteerism and philanthropy.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

• Requires a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Experience in higher education preferred.
• Seven to ten years professional experience in sales, marketing, communications, events, customer service and/or volunteer management preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference will be given to applicants who are alumni of Queens University of Charlotte.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), including exemplary poise, tact and diplomacy when working with a wide range of constituents and diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and support team members to achieve delivery of high-quality programs and fundraising initiatives by providing meaningful and motivating coaching, training and feedback.
• Strong reasoning skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make well-thought-through recommendations
• A desire to grapple with complex systems and to simplify and improve intricate processes.
• Preferred experience in project management in similar roles.
• Demonstrated competence with technology, with preference given to applicants who are familiar with Slate for Advancement, social media, and other commonly used Advancement platforms.
• Demonstrated organization and planning skills (strategic, short- and long-term); strong follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure achievement of strategic plans, goals and objectives.
• Strong reasoning skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make well-thought-through recommendations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to effectively prioritize assignments to meet given deadlines.

 

Job Duties

  • Foster lasting relationships between the University and its constituents and establish a structured, systematic program of engagement opportunities that will ensure ongoing, meaningful relationships with students, alumni and donors. Hold a portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects.
  • Lead volunteer committees in the planning of milestone and affinity reunion events as well as planning the logistics and programmatic pieces of reunion that all classes attend.
  • Coordinate with volunteers in key cities to support events and local members of the Queens community that support pride and philanthropy for the College.
  • Support giving day activities such as Giving Tuesday and QUnited through identifying alumni advocates, completing their training and providing day of support.
  • Develop relationships through scheduled meetings with key volunteer leaders on the Alumni Association Board. In collaboration with the executive committee, plan annual meetings.
  • Lead the Homecoming committee, comprised of students, alumni and staff in planning the week of activities including but not limited to invitations, programmatic schedule of events and fanfest.
  • Lead the development of alumni affinity programming to extend engagement opportunities for alumni constituents.

The Test Proctor supports the administration of accommodated testing for students registered with the Office of Academic Accommodations and Accessibility at Elon University. This position assists in creating an accessible, secure, and supportive testing environment while maintaining academic integrity and confidentiality. The Test Proctor works closely with AAA professional staff to administer exams in accordance with approved accommodations and testing procedures. This position is temporary for the 2026-2027 academic year and will provide testing support at School of Health Sciences/Francis Center.

Associate Director of Campus Recreation for Sport Programs

Campus Recreation
Campus Recreation provides quality recreational and educational experiences designed to positively impact the development of Elon students and contribute to the wellness of the campus community. The associate director is an essential member of the Campus Recreation professional team and provides leadership to one professional staff member, oversees management of sport programs including both club sports and intramurals. Additionally, this individual will be a key leader for a university strategic initiative to launch an elevated club sports program at Elon. Assists the director in department administration and strategic planning.

Club Sports Coach-Men's Lacrosse

The Head Coach for Men’s Club Lacrosse is a member of the Campus Recreation staff in the Division of Student Life and serves as the primary coach and leader for the program. Club sports teams at Elon are student organizations, run by student leaders who manage many aspects of organization operations. Club sports programs promote student development, engaging co-curricular experiences, high-level athletic competition, and positive representation of the university. As part of a broader initiative to advance club sports at the university, the Men's Club Lacrosse Head Coach will serve as the team coach, coordinate administrative aspects of program operations, work closely with Admissions to recruit student athletes (in coordination with Admissions), and achieve important fundraising goals (in coordination with University Advancement). This position requires evening and weekend work.
