The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Elon University seeks to hire a part-time instructor to teach in-person Elementary Japanese (I and II) classes (on Elon's main campus) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This appointment is part-time, non-tenure track, with no guarantee of renewal. The classes will be in-person, and likely will be scheduled on M-W in the late afternoon for 100 minutes each. Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and a Master’s degree or higher in Japanese, Foreign Language Pedagogy or a related field are required, though candidates with 18 graduate credit-hours in Japanese may be considered. Candidates should have teaching experience. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching.
