Job Duties

  • Holistic Support for NON-Elon Students: Because several of the programs in the Center for Access and Success serve non-Elon students and their parents, the Well-Being Coordinator will be asked to meet with individuals and groups who are dealing with challenges that are impeding their academic success including stress, anxiety, and those related to life transitions at the heart of the Center’s mission. This support is reliant on relationships built with students and parents while being an active presence in programs that are offered in the summer, weekends, and in the evenings.
  • Collaboration with Elon Programs: The Well-Being Coordinator will assist the directors of Elon student-facing programs (Odyssey Scholars and First-Generation Student Support Services) by designing, implementing, and, at times, leading programs connected to student and parent support. Potential areas for program workshops could include self-care, authentic relationships, and connections between major choice and personal fulfillment. Additionally, the Coordinator will connect with campus staff members in areas related to physical health, vocational/career services, inclusive excellence, counseling services, financial skills (among others) to ensure the work being done at Elon is well integrated into the Center.
  • Thought Leadership: The Well-Being Coordinator will collaborate with the staff from Elon Academy, It Takes a Village, and Beyond 12 to ensure the programs’ offerings are mindful of student emotional, social, and mental wellbeing. The Coordinator will be the point person for questions about trends in PK-12 and college age student well-being. Additionally, this role maintains resources and creates resources (written, online, audio…) to share with students and parents in need of information.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve and refine well-being initiatives. Consistent assessment will allow the Center’s offerings to evolve and provide excellent support for students and parents who have needs that are unique to the greater Elon campus.
  • Serve on university and Center committees. Attend university-wide staff meetings

Special Instructions to Applicants: Please submit a cover letter that addresses your experience providing student well-being.
