Position Summary
As a member of the Division of Student Life and the Student Involvement team, the Associate Director of Student Involvement leads efforts to engage students in meaningful campus involvement. This position supports student success by mentoring and coaching them through the development of rich relationships. This associate director works directly with student leaders and collaborates with others across the university to provide community and leadership development opportunities that enhance the student experience and advance the department’s strategic plans. As a leader within the Student Involvement team, the associate director is responsible for serving as an active member of the staff in presence and in communication, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and completing various administrative tasks that support the daily operations of the department.
This Associate Director serves as a visionary leader and provides strategic direction and leadership for the fraternity/sorority community in relationship to the broader campus community. Working alongside the department’s other Associate Director for student organization support, this position serves as the primary contact for the fraternity and sorority community, which includes 2,500+ students, 30 chapters, and four student governing councils. They act as a key resource, streamlining communication between the university, chapter members, advisors, and national organizations to ensure alignment with institutional policies, foster collaboration, and enhance the overall success of the fraternity and sorority experience. The Associate Director is responsible for leading the department’s risk management efforts for student organizations and supporting student leaders through the student organization conduct process. This position provides collaborative support in the development of diverse programs that enhance student life and works with students and staff to actively encourage meaningful student involvement and engagement opportunities at Elon.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in higher education, college student personnel, counseling, or related field
Preferred Education and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with at least 3-5 years of progressive post-master’s experience working with fraternities and sororities, student organizations, student activities, and/or leadership development, as well as experience advising students from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Affiliation with an inter/national sorority or fraternity preferred, but not required
Job Duties
Special Instructions to Applicants: Serve as a member of a Student Life Care and Response Team, which includes either serving in a rotational on-call emergency response role or providing initial outreach and follow-up support for student concerns.
