Position Summary

Elon University, an independent university renowned as a national model for engaged learning, is seeking two full-time experienced faculty members to teach in the Department of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The nursing program is part of the Elon University School of Health Sciences, which also includes the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Positions are 9-month, lecture or tenure-track. Elon offers a salary commensurate with qualifications, an excellent benefits package and generous retirement plan.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

• Hold a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Hold an unencumbered nursing license in North Carolina.
• Have two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time experience as a registered nurse.
• Satisfy the NC Board of Nursing requirements to teach in a pre-licensure nursing program.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including educational technology.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Doctorate in nursing or related field.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach a variety of courses depending on the needs of the department. We also have specific needs in community/population and mental health nursing.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching.
• Experience with simulation.
• Knowledge and experience with planning and implementing interprofessional education.
